Las Vegas Weddings Are Cool

By Natalia Montoya

Las Vegas weddings continue to be as varied as they are numerous. This Nevadan city became known as the wedding capital of the world because of the ease of obtaining marriage licenses. No blood tests are required, you can obtain a license every day until midnight, and there is no waiting period.

If your desire is to make your ceremony unique to the two of you, the sky's the limit. You can include just about any idea or theme, or exclude any portion you consider too traditional. Basically you start with a blank canvas and paint your own service in your own colors. With so many weddings performed here each year - over a hundred thousand - they've probably seen it before, and can make it happen again.

If cheap is the word for you, for less than one hundred dollars, you can marry in the government office where you obtain your license. No matter what your budget, you can select most parts of the wedding ala carte to keep you on track with the cost and your desires. Whether you choose a religious ceremony or a civil service, it's entirely up to you.

The number of venues is also enormous. There are chapels inside the majority of the casinos that provide ceremonies in an ala carte format. The couple can select which pieces they want to include and the prices reflect their choices.

In the wedding district, are many stand alone chapels. They will work with you to customize all details, from theme-based to a more traditional or religious ceremony. Their pricing is also offered by the detail, allowing the couple to pick and choose which to include. The reception can even be held in the same location, making it very uncomplicated for those wedding parties traveling into Las Vegas.

The selection of outside locations is also as varied as the desert landscape. There are beautiful golf courses, national parks, lakeside gazebos, parks, and even in the shadow of the famed Las Vegas welcome sign. Imagine an outside service at sundown with the gorgeous desert sky as a backdrop. Whatever your desires, they can be had with a little planning upfront.

For those couples wishing to forego the big, elaborate ceremony, a quick elopement to Nevada can save the big expense and allow the couple to enjoy a small intimate setting. They could also throw a party to remember in one of the larger venues in the city. Either way, Las Vegas weddings remain a popular option for many couples.
