Shopping Tips for Bathroom Lights

By Danny Ricks

Hmm, an enticing room everytime we arrive at nighttime. Warm, homely and pleasant. Especially when you are tired or too droned up from work. Currently, it has become fashionable and common for yuppies to spruce up their bathrooms and make it look like a hotel spa. Who says only celebrities could emulate the ambiance of the spas like that in Bali, when you as an average folk wouldn't have to use a lot of money in order to "revitalize" your bathroom? On the other hand, we have one drawback-curbed space. Apartments and condos in the metropolitan and even in the suburbs lack sufficient space for bathrooms. Nevertheless, cramped spaces do not essentially pose as a problem if you have an imaginative mind. The simple answer there is to make some changes with your kichler bathroom lights.

Adding some accents or removing some is the secret formula to having a bathroom that spells solace and splendor, plus the feel of a bigger space. The switch of the wall paint or your wall paper to a lighter shade for instance would "widen" your room in a jiffy. Cautiously thinking of where to position your wall sconces and lighting fixtures particularly in your bathroom will also take full advantage of your available place. Nevertheless, an individual have to know the kinds of lighting first.

Task lighting, general lighting (or occasionally called general lighting) and accent lighting are the three identified types of indoor and exterior lighting one can choose to have in their house. Task lighting is one of the major illuminations especially in the bathroom, particularly if we decide to shave, put on makeup or groom in front of the bathroom mirror. They are usually bathroom lights placed alongside or over the mirror, for clarity and comfortability when we groom ourselves. Whereas ambient lightings on the other hand hold the heavier task of emanating light to brighten the whole extent of the room. They can be chandeliers, hanging fixtures or a plain light bulb (or can be a combination of both), depending on a person's choice. Wherever they might be shadows accent lighting will be added, like a table lamp or a wall sconce to balance the distribution of lighting.

Not only that, we would also need to consider the right light bulbs. Especially the type of lighting bulb for our bathroom mirror, for as much as possible, we want to have that crisp white light that will aid us in putting our cosmetics evenly and nicely. You can choose to have halogen, fluorescent or incandescent light bulbs. On the other hand, we are all saving money here. Incandescent light bulbs are competent, but halogen and fluorescent bulbs are eco-friendlier and more cost-efficient. In addition, the last two are longer-lasting, usually sturdier to about three to ten times compared to incandescent ones.

There are also dimmers, which helps us modulate the lighting in order to set the mood. Not only does it simulate the effect we want to create, but it also trims down our energy consumption. You now understand most of the essentials concerning bathroom lights and light bulbs, you might be positive enough to "revitalize" now your most beloved bathroom.
