Wedding Stationery For Simple Affairs

By Bernard Miner

Many brides and grooms need assistance when it comes to wedding stationery for a simple affair. The couple may want to have something for their invitations that is not too fancy or too feminine. There are also invites which might be too informal for the day so choosing just the right paper and wording needs to come together for a special request for their friends and family.

For a simple ceremony, a bride and groom could choose a simple flora patterned paper with an ordinary font for the lettering. For a celebration that is more festive or has a theme, the couple could choose cards which represent their theme, color or something that embodies them as a couple. For example if they enjoy nature or skydiving, this could be part of the invitation background.

An elegant occasion for celebrating a bride and grooms union could be done on a budget. Many brides and grooms are scaling down their events to make sure they have enough money for everything they want. The higher the quality of material used in the paper, the more expensive the invites are, plus, they are heavier, which makes them cost more to mail out to guests.

Saving money on different pieces of the invitations will help the couple retain more of their money for other things they may want or need. If they leave out the multitude of envelopes that typically accompany some of the more formal invites, they will save money. Instead of all the envelopes, especially the one to return and reserve a seat, a couple could use a simple postcard. A monogrammed or photograph of the happy couple would be ideal for a postcard's back.

The wording for an invite to the special day will also need to be just right. There is proper etiquette when listing parent's names, step-parents names or grandparent's names. A couple will want this to be spelled correctly and worded right for the occasion. Many written requests are printed in a very fancy font. A bride and groom could choose which font they would like their invitation printed in and many places do not charge extra for this service.

There are special techniques a printing store can do to make an invitation unique for a couple. One very unique invitation takes a photograph of the couple and superimposes it onto the paper and then has the lettering printed over the photograph. The photo is light and in the background but it shows through enough to know it is the happy couple. Many couples use their engagement photos when choosing this type of paper for their special day.

A wedding stationery store should be helpful and knowledgeable about planning and designing the perfect invitations for a simple affair. When quests receive the envelop with their request to join the happy couple on their special day, that is the first time they will be introduced to the concept of the couple and their big day. The couple will want that piece of paper to make a good impression.
