How To Create The Best Buildings

By Adriana Noton

As long as we humans have existed, we have tried to separate ourselves from other species by the way we live. We do that as a group in many different ways: we prepare our food and cook it, rather than eating it raw and ripped from a carcass; we wear clothes to make up for the fur we have evolved out of; and we choose to live, work and play in the sanctity and safety of buildings rather than roaming the open plains of the wild.

The construction of buildings is usually left to a team of architects, designers, builders and contractors. At the first stage a site is chosen and levelled upon which the structure will sit. From there, a series of architects will begin analyzing the possible use of such an area to make a beautiful location and will begin preliminary sketching and model making of anything that would eventually end up on the site.

The drawings and models produced by an architect or team of architect are vital: they are the thing which all other stages of construction will rely on to make sure they are doing a good job, and following the plans produced to make sure any given building is perfectly aligned to the vision of the first designer. The plans will be handed over to a team of builders, who will dig and set foundations then begin their work.

When builders need tools and materials to create their constructions, they will often go to a supply merchant. These places hold mountains of materials, including wood, masonry and support structures, which can help erect a structure with the latest technology. The master builder will buy his required materials to meet the architects' brief at the supply merchants and will transport it to the site to be used to create the home or office.

Once the framework of the erection has been finished, laborers such as plasterers and skimmers and internal craftsmen will come in with the express purpose of furnishing the rooms inside with the most basic presentation required such as smooth walls and plasterboard, as well as firm ceilings.

When they have completed their work, the building is handed over to an interior designer, whose task it is to beautify the building from the inside and make it more than a square box to live or work in. They work with soft furnishings, paint and decorations to try and envelop and develop a mood for each room within the structure.

Once all the work is done on a building, these places then go onto the market. Recently the housing and general property markets have become stagnant, because of the macroeconomic influences the world is currently struggling under. People hope that in the future the world will once again rise up and improve. Realtors sell these properties on the market to buyers.

At every stage that a buildings take to their completion, there are a small army of workers who are devoted to producing the end result. As people work, rest or play in their steel buildings, it is worth remembering the large amounts of work that go into producing this single space.
