What To Do After Your Baby Grows Out Of Their Newborn Baby Clothes

By Nan Bierquest

Newborns are like cute and adorable beacons of new clothing, and parents, godparents, and relatives alike suddenly bombard the family with clothes, ranging from affordable name brand baby clothes, to expensive designer garments. It is almost inevitable that once a baby comes, within a month or so, or maybe even before, the family would have dozens of clothes. But then, what happens when the time comes that the clothes have already been outgrown?

There are quite a number of options for these used clothes, ranging from practical ones, to even profitable ones! And the first, and most obvious choice, is to simply keep the clothes for future kids to use. This is a very reasonable option if the clothing are unisex, and if there's still plans for the husband and wife to have more kids soon.

The other option is to sell the used clothes as cheap newborn baby clothes, whether in a garage sale, in a thrift store, or even on the internet. This option, when done correctly, will yield money back for the family, and in addition to that, also solve storage issues in small apartments and homes. Not only that, doing this will also provide cheaper alternatives to families with a tight budget, and have them purchase used but decent clothing for their newborns.

Just remember, for both options, to make sure to take care of the clothing in order to not have them damaged for future use. Baby clothes have fabrics that are soft and comfortable, and most of these are also quite fragile. So make sure once the clothes have been outgrown, to keep them in a safe, dry, clean place, preferably in storage bags which will keep moisture, dust, and insects out.

So the when your newborn baby outgrows his or her clothing, don't just throw the used garments in the trash. Keep them for your future kids, or sell them to make a profit! You'll definitely extend the life of your kids' clothes with any of those two choices.
