What Wedding Marquee is Best For Your Reception?

By Tim Peel

We all want our wedding party to be enchanting and unforgettable. There is no greater way of achieving that than using a marquee or tent that has been designed to your personal tastes and design. The selection of marquee or tent will impact exactly how imaginative it is possible to be with the internal and external dcor of the party.

Clear Span Marquees are the most in-demand marquee structures for one simple reason, they are devoid of any kind of inside or external obstructions and because of that you can create just about any design from a real clean canvass. A Clear Span Marquee consists of an aluminium framework, with white PVC walls and roofs. They've got no inner posts or external guy ropes and once entirely fitted no area of the frame is seen. They don't only have to be basic and solid. They come in different options. The walls and roofs can be clear giving a conservatory type result, plus the walls can incorporate Georgian windows which is a very popular appearance. At the same time, it is quite easy to add items on to the main marquee such as a porch, a catering marquee, and covered loos. Inside in addition, they provide a great deal of flexibility as there are variations and shades of linings, swags and drapes for the walls and roofs.

Before Clear Span Marquees became popular Traditional Canvass Pole Marquees were extensively used. These are similar to circus marquees and are constructed in the same way having wood central and side supporting posts and outside guy ropes, and are made of canvas. However, they're not as prevalent now for weddings as they are really hard to take care of in a condition suitable for a wedding because they usually tend to suffer from mildew, and so are very difficult to clean after a few years use. So, the majority of marquee hire companies stay clear of them. You still see them at large agricultural and horticultural events where the quality of the canvass is less significant. Provided you can find one in a good condition then they make a very upmarket and elegant alternative to the clear span marquee when adorned with bunting, fairy lights or custom roof drapes.

A hybrid of the Traditional Canvas Pole Marquee is the American Style Marquee that is made of PVC, having aluminium poles produced in a similar manner. They can be distinguished from the Traditional Canvass Pole Marquee by their multi or twin-peaked roofs. They are known as the American Style Marquee because they are normally manufactured and brought in via the USA, that also makes them more costly to hire because of the delivery and import duties.

No matter which style of marquee you select you can be guaranteed that a terrific party full of romance and style can be created from them.
