Tips To Creating A Very Special Day

By Kim Hochman

The options to having a non-traditional wedding these days are quite vast. Have you considered having a wedding ceremony that is not the normal expected? For those that are seeking an alternative type of celebration, here are a few ideas and locations that you may not have previously considered for your big day.

The most important tip to making your wedding the event that you will remember forever is to plan the day that you want. Do not let other people tell you what it is that you should be doing. Make the decisions that you want to make. It is your day!

If you're having an outdoor wedding and reception, make sure that your all of your decorations are windproof. Weather conditions can be unpredictable and are usually uncontrollable, so make sure to take all precautions to windproof everything you possibly can to avoid any decor mishaps halfway through your special day.

If you are the groom, make sure your tuxedo fits perfectly. Get the opinions of others before you decide on the tuxedo of your choice. Remember pictures will be taken at your wedding, you want to look and be remembered looking your best.

A good piece of advice to keep in mind for weddings is to make sure that you allow your photographer to do their job without providing your own input. You hopefully did your background research before hiring them, do not let your stress take over and question their abilities.

Even though many pre-wedding traditions are focused around the bride, be sure to include some for the groom. He plays a pretty important part to the day and you are going to want to have some photos done of the time that he and his groomsmen get ready for the big day.

A wedding day often seems like a stressful time, so try to plan the wedding for a bit later. This will give you time to get everything you need done without having to wake up at 4 in the morning and looking exhausted. If possible, do something relaxing for yourself.

The tips above will, hopefully, inspire your imagination into the alternatives that are available to you. The vows you are about to exchange with your spouse-to-be, are the most important aspect of the day with the rest just being window dressing. In saying that, your day will undoubtedly, be the most magical it can be.
