Why Are Teenagers' Fashion Blogs Popular?

By Jack Wogan

Teenagers have launched a new phenomenon in the fashion world. Their blogs are becoming more and more popular. These fashion diaries allow quick communication between author and reader, they are entertaining and informative. Unlike magazines, which promote expensive clothes, make-up and beauty products, blogs present original, fun content written by young people who love to share their views on beauty and trends.

Teenagers with fashion awareness post their original views on trendy clothes and accessories, becoming a real inspiration for all of us. Their blogs are a real alternative to fashion magazines which don't translate the latest trends presented on catwalks into everyday life outfits that can be worn by normal people.

Successful bloggers are very active writers; they post as frequently as they can and always keep in touch with the latest news and gossip in the fashion and celebrity world. They also keep their blog content fresh by reviving the most relevant posts and avoid displaying dated information. Sometimes bloggers attract new readers by offering them small free gifts, like perfumes or face cream samples for signing up to newsletters.

Teens with fashion awareness write articles in their free time; their hobby is to share their original views on trends, becoming a real inspiration for all of us. Teenagers' blogs are a real alternative to magazines which are not even trying to turn the latest trends presented on catwalks into everyday life outfits that can be worn by normal people.

If magazines have more elaborate and sophisticated articles, teenagers' blogs make more 'down to earth' styling recommendations; the most important advantage of blogs is that authors can stay in touch with the readers. This way, the blog becomes an open discussion space where everyone can state opinions and exchange views.

The best known teenage blogger of the moment is American Tavi Gevinson, who began her fashion blog when she was only 11. At present, the talented teen aged 13 is considered a phenomenon; she is considered a muse by the designers and she is a constant guest of the big runway shows.
