By Ben Bender

If you want to venture out into the field of photography courses, it will turn out to be too overwhelming in case you have no basic knowledge about the subject. In such scenarios, it is better to sign up for a photography related course which will enable you to know the basics and the complex details of the art.

Over the years, Singapore has witnessed increased level of popularity for the photography profession. This being a digital era, they want their students to make most use of the available technology. This is the reason behind few schools hosting photographic courses now.

The first goal of all the courses in Singapore, which teach digital photography, is to teach the students how to use the digital cameras. The handling of this essential tool is the first step in photography, without which one will not be able to handle any photo shoot in a professional manner.

Secondly, you will be taught about the fundamentals in photo clicking. Basic lighting techniques and angles to be used are learnt. By practice, one can get used to choosing the right kind of photographic environment.

Next thing a student should learn are the basic photography techniques. The easiest to learn is using daylight. Using other lights in the picture can be too much for a beginner, but with simple guides, I'm sure he will get through it.

Another thing he needs to learn is the post photo shoot works. He will need to be accustomed with digital editing and printing. Photoshop editing will greatly enhance a picture and can express more of what the photographer is trying to portray.

Once, he has mastered these basics he can now go on to shoot his own theme. He can decide on his subject and the feeling he would want to portray in the shot. Although still very simple, it is a milestone for a beginner student in digital photography courses.

After being through all these stages, a student can finally create a self made portfolio. This will be scrutinized so as to give educative feedback to the student. Once a student finishes the basic course, he or she can enhance their skills through intermediate level photography courses available in Singapore.
