Say What You Want With Custom T-shirts

By Matt Ladd

T-shirts are a dime a dozen these days. There was a time in the not-too-distant past when wearing a t-shirt immediately branded you a "rebel". Remember James Dean, anyone? Now t-shirts are everywhere, and wearing one doesn't make you so much a rebel as someone who thinks that collared shirts are too warm in the summer. So what does it take these days to make a statement? How do you make yourself heard?

There is an ocean of people out there in the world and it is all too easy for the voice of the individual to be drowned out. Where t-shirts once displayed your individualism proudly, they now only serve to muffle it. The t-shirt industry pumps out countless designs in an attempt to please the broadest range of people so that they can, in turn, sell them and make money. That isn't necessarily bad, but it doesn't allow the individual to be heard...only the faceless companies that make these t-shirts.

Fortunately, there are a few companies out there who care about what the individual wants to say. When ordering from most companies, the best you can hope for is to merely acquiesce with the product they deliver. There is no personal substance whatsoever.

More people should be taking advantage of the cheaper, faster methods of custom t-shirt creation that exist today. The days of the labor-extensive and bulk-ordered custom shirt is nearly over. New processes have made custom t-shirts easy to produce. It takes just a couple of days for an idea to form in your brain, purchase the shirt, and have it shipped to you. When many people are clamoring and shouting, it only takes that one clear voice to rise above the din. Custom t-shirts are that clear voice amid the shouts of mass produced t-shirts.

Custom t-shirts give people a voice when all the world wants to do is make you adhere to a standard of conformity that many of us buck against. When the throngs of people are shoving words down your throat, it makes you appreciate any way you can find to speak out with words of your own choosing. Custom t-shirts are a perfect way to do just that.
