The Fantastic World of Tungsten Rings

By Galena Avedon

Thinking about adding a new piece of jewelry to the collection? Maybe you are searching for the perfect accessory which not many will have? If this is the case, a women s tungsten ring might be the perfect match. Tungsten rings are unlike any other type of ring you will find on the market.

Tungsten is ten times harder than the strongest gold, five times harder than steel and four times harder than titanium. These rings and other types of tungsten jewelry should hold its shape for your lifetime. Tungsten is a heavy metal and it will not bend. Prices vary for tungsten rings and jewelry but there are a lot of affordable pieces on the market today.

Tungsten rings come in a lot of different sizes and styles which most people wouldn t know. Most styles of tungsten rings will come in a variety of different widths. As I mentioned the size of the rings made me think women wouldn t enjoy them because they may appear to be bulky, however it is interesting to know that tungsten rings for women can be made all the way down to a 6mm width. This is a far cry from the 8mm-10mm rings which are so popular among men.

Women s tungsten rings can also be designed to look just as slick and stylish as traditional rings such as gold and white gold. A style which is popular among women s rings is the smaller ring with beveled edges. These rings can also come in styles which sport laser engraved designs, setting your style apart from others.

During the Second World War, tungsten was very important. Portugal had a lot of wolframite ores that were used to make tungsten. Due to these ores Portugal had pressure put on it from both sides of fighting. These ores were beneficial in making tungsten for materials used for weapons.
