Play With Trends By Buying Some Dresses And Shirts

By Galina Maor

There is the phrase that clothing makes the man and that is true for both genders. Women are definitely the focal point in any fashion type of advertising - they are the target demographic. Finding your sartorial sense, however, is not the easiest thing in a world shaped continually by ever changing trends. It feels overwhelming trying to find out what works for your body and how you want to dress to present yourself to the world, while looking good and feeling comfortable, but it is possible. Creating a personal wardrobe can be as simple as getting the right dresses and shirts.

Saying that all you need are the right dresses and shirts may sound like easy advice, but that is only true if you know what your body type is and how to dress it. The best fashion advice is to not focus on trends, but focus on what works for your body.

For the petite woman, many of the current sun dresses will fit your frame beautifully. Many are large and flowing which would not look good on women with larger frames and more buxom figures. Some of the considerations for more petite women are to stay away from maxi dresses and keep hems to and slightly above the knee. If hems are any longer, it will cut an already shorter leg off and make a petite woman look shorter and wider than she is.

Tall women with more svelte figures can handle almost every dress style. If, however, you are tall and more hour glassed shaped than the rule of thumb for the curvy woman is to embrace her curves. While you may want to camouflage your body, too much fabric will make you appear larger than you are. Silhouettes from the 1940s especially, look great on curvy women due to their tailored construction.

What about the average woman of average height? You will have to integrate both of the recommendations depending on your proportions and take care to highlight the best parts of your body while emphasizing your waist.

When you are dress shopping, if you become overwhelmed and desperately want to try a trend, do it but do not be discouraged if it does not look good on your figure. Remember that trends continually change and they are not one size fits all. Concentrating on what specifically works for your body gives you the best chance of finding the best dress.

When it comes to shirts, there are a variety of styles that may be easier to utilize to make you feel glamorous. Dresses and shirts can both be great ways to dress up and outfit, but not every woman likes wearing dresses. Many women feel sexy in a great pair of pants and a shirt that embodies their personality.

Buying shirts means only having to take into consideration the top half of your body. When it comes to your top half, there isn't as much stress involved when taking into consideration your height and overall body shape. Playing with trends is easier in shirts because they can be completely trendy or only contain trend elements. Finding the right shirt means literally grabbing whatever you like and seeing how it works on your body. Dresses and shirts can invoke any type of feeling you want in an overall look.
