How To Tidy Your Space Using Card Holders

By James Jackcombe

When our business or living environment is not in order it makes it very hard to think clearly and get on with our work. For some it is a never ending battle against the tide of paperwork and they never seem to achieve anything. The business card is one item that always seems to end up in a messy pile that we just never have time to tidy. Card holders are a great way to put them all in order.

We give and receive business cards every step of the way in the business world. Whilst quite traditional, they are still our preferred method of distributing our company details and providing business contacts with the information they need on the goods or services we provide. They are an important aide memoire which keeps us in touch with current and potential clients and also suppliers and business associates. Having them immediately to hand presents an efficient and professional image.

However, they do seem to disappear into drawers, pockets and filing cabinets and never seem to be just there when you need them, resulting in tedious and frustrating searches for that elusive piece of information.

Card holders ensure that those cards you find beneficial are sorted and available in one convenient location near the phone. No longer strewn around the home and office, you can easily locate the one you need for your business contact or emergency plumber.

The sheer variety of sizes and styles ensures that there is just the right card holder out there for your needs. We might need just a one pocket counter top business card stand to place next to the phone at home for handy trade cards. The office environment will probably require larger card holders to keep the business cards in relevant groups or alphabetically. And, of course, you will want a card holder for your own cards either within the workplace or when out and about. All will ensure those cards are sorted and readily available.

Having found and sorted all your business cards into the card holder, you can concentrate on sorting through the weekly build up of papers and mail that require your attention. Using a little time at the end of each day to discard the junk and place your paperwork in order of importance will result in a tidier space and a more efficient and productive day.

Organizing one's space does not have to be a chore, if you consistently do a little each day to clear clutter in its early stages, rather than be overwhelmed with loads of items that need to be organized at once. Card holders are the first step to keeping the desk in order and de-cluttering your space.
