Appreciating An Employee's Great Work By Giving A Plaque

By Justine Evans

Knowing people appreciate our work makes our job lighter. We all require the proverbial pat on the back. It's not to say that we can only work when we are admired, but work becomes easier when our efforts and skills are appreciated.

For those who have staff members to manage, it's always better to give them supporting words than to look for a flaw in all of their work. Giving them an appreciation plaque will let them know how you appreciate their efforts and hard work.

Giving your staff a plaque is a perfect way to show that you are grateful for their endeavors, particularly after a long and difficult project that had kept everyone on their toes for weeks. It encourages hard work also.

A coveted is, of course, desired by everyone. That's why routine wage increment should be practiced in the workplace. But money is short-term. It will be gone after a few hours of paying the bills. A plaque may not be as grand as a financial bonus, but it is a reward that lasts far longer.

The management should show their appreciation and gratitude in a tangible form such as a plaque. An employee needs a concrete proof that he has done something right and he was acknowledged for it no matter what position he holds in the office. It also serves as his inspiration to continue the great work that he is doing.

Employees can also display the plaques in their office room for everyone to see or take them home to be proudly presented to their family and friends. It can be a source of pride for them, which is what it should be.

A ceremony every quarter year to give plaques to worthy employees is ideal. The workplace should never be lacking in appreciation and praise. They simply help keep an optimistic attitude and make everyone work easier and happier, knowing that they are recognized and treasured.
