On Your 5 Year Anniversary, Say It With Diamonds

By Natalie Whitman

Marriage proposals made over a romantic dinner at an elegant restaurant can be very romantic but they are not necessarily creative. Many women dream about the day that the man of their dreams proposes to them and hope that the day will be absolutely perfect in every way imaginable.

Have a friend set up a picnic in a park or on the beach for you, but keep it a surprise. Invite her for a walk. As you reach the picnic area, drop to one knee and propose. Then enjoy a romantic picnic for two.

Any one of these dates might make the perfect setting for a romantic proposal. Bake her a cake with writing on the top that asks, "Will you marry me?" During a night of dancing at a nightclub, arrange for them to give you a microphone for you to propose. Arrange for a skywriter to write a message in the sky while you enjoy a picnic in a park or on a beach. You could also hire a plane to pull a "Marry Me" sign. Purchase an ad at your local movie theater, sporting event, or shopping center.

Have the bathtub ready for a bath with roses, candles, and champagne. Tie the engagement ring around a rubber ducky. When she discovers the ring, ask her to marry you. Buy an animal she wants for a pet. Tie the ring around its neck. Propose as she finds the ring. A stuffed animal would work as well.

Play Hangman and use the phrase "Marry me". Make a video of yourself telling her what you love about her and asking her to marry you. Pop in the video when the two of you are alone. What a great memento that video will become. Create a free website online. Call it "Why I Love ______". Display pictures of the two of you. Write captions for the pictures using the word "love" in the captions. End the website with the words, "Will you marry me?" Share the site with her.
