You may want to start planning a business party for no good reason just because you feel like it. It takes a lot to throw one of these because you have to think about how many people you should invite, where it's going to be at, what kind of food you're going to have, or maybe even what kind of entertainment you're going to have.

Since this is basically a work party, you're obviously going to invite everyone from work including your boss and also see if any of them would like to invite their spouses or significant others. You do not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable, so it's important to invite anyone else as well.
It makes more sense to talk to him about every thing that has been going on in your mind when he's alone. It is no one else's business except for you and your boss. No one should have the right to be listening in and jumping to your conversation because you would not do that to a person who would do that; you would have more respect than they do.
This would be the perfect time to get to know people because everyone you work with would be in one room so you can just go around talk to each one individually and tell them a little bit about yourself just so they know who you are. Now you do not want to bore them and tell them your whole life story, just tell them a sentence or two about yourself.
Maybe your problem at work could be that you're not doing very well and you need some help and some advice on how to get better. Thats what any good employee would have the guts to do. The only problem is for you is that you're having trouble finding the right time to talk to him because you do not want to get your head bitten off.
You have to learn that not everyone is going to like you. They may be jealous of the fact that you're prettier then them, or taller than them, or any kind of crazy idea they would have. You do not need to worry about the people who do not like you. Focus on the people who do like you and become friends with them. Who knows you guys may have a lot in common.
You also need to think about what kind of entertainment you want to have because if everyone is just standing around not doing anything, then they may feel pretty bored and would want to go home. It's your job to think of something outstanding so they would never want to leave but at some point they would have to.
After you have successfully thrown the best business party that anyone has ever thrown before, it's always a polite thing to offer to help clean up your boss' house before you leave to go home. You're the one that wanted to have it there, so it makes perfect sense that you would be the one to help clean up.
