Display Easels - A World of Options

By Kylie Scott

What is the first thing you think about when you hear the words, "display easels?" Do you think of the artist's easel? Do you think about the easel you use to display your favorite plate? Does a particular use you could put one to come into your mind? Most people don't even realize what a phenomenal number of styles and designs are available. Then, when they start looking online for what they need, they realize that there are display easels for every purpose imaginable.

Take floor easels, for example. At its most basic, it is a simple tripod. These easels are superb for displaying works of art. Many gallery owners and collectors prefer to display their best paintings on these stands to hanging them on the wall. Hung on the wall, the painting has to go in a space where it will fit, rather than where it is most appropriate. When placed on an easel, it can go exactly where you want it to go and be moved at any time.

Aside from these, there are many other display easels to choose from to serve any number of needs. Bifold easels, for instance, are lightweight and unobtrusive. They are space saving and very transportable.

Both of these basic designs, the tripod easel and the bi-fold stand, can be found made from just about any kind of sturdy material. Wooden ones can be as simple as a few sticks of pine or as elegant as hand-sculpted pieces of fine cherrywood or other exotic wood. Metal stands are made from wrought iron, lightweight aluminum or even brass, copper or bronze.

When it comes to design, there is even more to choose between. The wrought iron display easels lend themselves to innumerable patterns and designs. A restaurant may even have a custom-made easel to reflect its menu or theme. Really, the possibilities are endless.

There are possibly even a greater number of options in tabletop easels. In fact, if you can think of a possible use for one, it probably exists. What about having that old black and white wedding photograph of your grandparents set off against a pewter easel stand? Are you wishing you had a stand that would hold your cookbook upright and open at the page that you're trying to read as you mix the ingredients for a new recipe?

Aside from being the perfect presentation solution, they are worthy of display themselves and some could easily stand alone as objects of art. In fact, many people consider them to be collectibles in their own right.

Go online and see for yourself what a world of possibilities there are. You will be astounded by the range and quality of display easels that you will find.
