Women's Fashion - Trends & Tips For Looking Good In 2011

By Mark Walters

It might sometimes seem like fashion changes more often than you get your haircut, but this season boasts some spectacular trends that you're sure to love. Plus, we've taken the stress out of finding out about them by putting together this guide to current trends in women's fashion. We start with pleated skirts. These might sound a bit harsh, but if you wear them in beautiful spring colors like peach, pastel shades and mint green and go for soft fabric like chiffon, they'll look great.

You are probably very aware of the fact that the maxi dress has been completely massive for the past couple of years and it's no surprise that it's back this season. It's not the only skirt length in town, though, with hemlines going a few inches shorter with the gorgeous midi-length dress and skirt. These can sometimes make you look a bit shorter than you are, which is why it's great news the maxi dress is hanging around, but the calf-length midi is still totally fabulous.

You can also stand out from the crowd by wearing some fantastic block colors in bright summer colors such as mandarin, bright yellow, eye-popping blue or fuchsia. You can also combine the block color look with other trends such as the pleated skirt, making this a really versatile option. It's also great as it means you can tailor the colors you choose to match your personal style and coloring, so your complexion is sure to pop when you choose the perfect colors.

You can also move away from block colors if you prefer and go for something a little more quirky in your summer fashion. This year, there is a trend for fruit patterns and we think it's absolutely great. There are loads of dresses, skirts and tops that come with really cute fruit motifs that look just perfect for summer. There's also some sensational jewelry, such as some that comes in the shape of cherries, which we think is the perfect accessory for summer.

Finally, there are also some great pants around this season, which is good news as you can't predict the weather even though it might be almost summer. This year, the pants are all about unusual colors such as grey/green or mustard, which are then paired with a neutral blouse for a great look. Statement trousers are really big, particularly wide-legged ones. This is great as the fact they flare out from your hips can help make you appear taller than you really are.
