Get Out Of That Rose Quilt Rut With Some New Rose Quilt Ideas

Its easy to see why we to fall into a habit, doing the same familiar things over and over. Its the safety of knowing you can do whatever it is and do it well. The down side of this is you can begin to get into a routine that becomes dull and you end up considering why it is you are doing what you do.

This is something that occurs a lot with rose quilt designs, you can end up making several quilts that end up looking the same and eventually lose the urge to do more. Well, now is the time to put an end to that cycle and the best way to do that is by starting with a fresh design, so here is a few:



Chequered Roses Pattern


Like a patchwork style quilt, a chequered rose pattern is something that isn't commonly done with roses. So why not incorporate a few into the squares and add a little bit of color and style to your next one?

Linking Vines Pattern

This one will take a little bit of planning. Get some paper and draw out a trail for your vines to follow, making sure that they don't bunch up in one particular place. Then, when you have something you like, add a scattering of roses!





Wreath of Roses


Why should Christmas have all the fun with wreaths? A wreath of roses makes a great centrepiece for a rose quilt and has a fresh and inviting appeal that is hard to beat!

Pick a couple of colours to make something special.





Border of Roses


You do not always have to cover every square inch of a rose quilt with flowers. Actually you can accomplish an effective and minimalist effect by sewing borders of roses around the edges of the quilt. It looks amazing and actually stands out!
