Plan Successful And Stress-Free Destination Weddings

By Lise Rina

An wedding out-of-town can be a dream come true or a potential nightmare, depending on the kind of planning that got into it. Brides can use some basic tips to help them have memorable and smooth-sailing destination weddings.

The very first thing a bride should make up her mind about is what she wants exactly. She should also know how much she has on hand to pay for everything. A reliable planner is a professional event organizer who can help her with every aspect of the nuptials, especially with hotel, venue and supplier bookings. There are planners who make a good living doing these out-of-town events.

A trip to the place can tell a bride how she might get her guests where they need to be on time. This trip can also be used to visit prospective suppliers and important places such as the church and reception venues, and the hotel for the couple and the guests. A second trip could also be made for food tasting, bouquet sampling, and the like.

When getting a vendor through email only, be sure to research what you can about their services. Get at least three recommendations for that vendor. Look at portfolios of past events. It is always a good idea to actually call the supplier to confirm transactions and iron out details.

Brides who are very particular can choose to bring a whole entourage of make-up and hair people, caterers, photographers, and other suppliers with her. They can be assisted by local counterparts to do what is needed. A dressmaker is best gotten for the gown. The bride can take it with her when it is time to go to their destination.

If ever the bride is lucky enough to have family or close friends living in the event location, she can recruit their help. A bride was able to ship all her reception decor and wedding gown to her aunt a week before the event. She also shipped her giveaways to her aunt who handled finding good local vendors.

It may not be possible to have all your desired guests with you on your special day. Inform your guests early enough where your day is going to happen and allow them to decide whether or not they can join you.

These exotic destination weddings can be shining successes when the bride knows how to prepare well. It does not hurt to have help from friends, family, and planners when creating the fantasy of a lifetime.
